Your equation needs clarification.

I interpreted it as:

-6 - (24/3) - (3*4)

-6 - 8 - 12

-26

It makes a difference if - 6 - 24 is a numerator and 3 -3 x 4 is a denominator. It that case you treat - 6 - 24 (the entire numerator) as if it were in brackets and you resolve that first. Thus - 6 - 24 = - 30. As for the denominator, do the multiplication first. Thus 3 - 3 x 4 = 3 - 12. Then you do the subtraction. Thus 3 - 12 = -9. Now you divide the numerator by the denominator. Thus - 30 / -9 = 3.33.

If however the problem was written in one line with a division sign where you have the word "divided", then you work in the following order. First you divide. Thus - 6 - 24 / 3 - 3 x 4 = - 6 - 8 - 3 x 4. Then you multiply. Thus - 6 - 8 - 3 x 4 = - 6 - 8 - 12. Finally you add and subtract. Thus = - 6 - 8 - 12 = - 26.

In doing these problems remember the BODMAS rule. First Brackets, then Of, then Division, then Multiplication, then Addition, then Subtraction in that order. Note that some may argue that multiplication should take place before division but it makes no difference to your answer here.
