Suzuki gsxr1000 if you gotta have a large capacity machine, not that i'm biased or anything.
Why not look at the gsxr750,what it loses on the straights it'll make up on the bends & unless your a seriously good rider it will get round a track quicker than any larger bike 'cos you can use all the power.

If you want fast and good handling, then the only one to choose from your selection is the FireBlade. Of the others, the YZF1000 is the same thing as the Thunderace, unless you mean the YZF-R1, which probably outdoes the 'Blade, but not by much. There's nothing wrong with the Thunderace, but it's a little lazier handling than the FireBlade. The Bandit 1200 is a great bike, I've got one. You'll still beat any normal car off the lights, with a 0-60 time of around 4 seconds, and be able to cruise at 130 quite comfortably, but it's not as sharp through the twisties as the others, as it's not really a sportsbike. Unless you're a true riding god, however, it's probably enough for you, and it's a damn sight cheaper to insure and run than the others!

The fireblade is a bike that does it all for you, the yzf (I presume you mean an R1 ) is a more intersting ride, the thunderace is a fast sports tourer. In comparison to the other three the bandit is a tourer with straight bars. Depends on how experienced a rider you are and what you like out of a bike.

I love both my blades. I can run at the front on any trackday. OK it's not standard, but it is easier to ride because I can use all the power. The YZF1000 R1 is probably a better bike. The point is moot if you can't handle a bike. A good 600 will kick your *** if you don't know what you are doing. All that said, I have a mate who has a dog of a Bandit 1200, but I'd like to see anyone get past the crazy fucker.

I'd agree with bikernoj.
On any of these bikes, properly maintained and set up, on *real* roads, 'fast' is pretty much down to the rider.
On any mixed track day you can see the smooth-riding people with good positioning and timing riding their old VTRs or whatever in rings around the nobbers with all the gear and no idea on their R1s / ZX10s etc.

But to actually answer your question, I'd go for a 2002 R1, or if you have less cash, maybe an older 'Blade, as it's damn tough. That's because I like sports bikes, but if you do lots of town riding / commuting, the Bandit would be lots of fun.

If you can't find the answer for yourself online, either through reviews, tests or direct comparisons, then I'll assume you don't have a motorcycle at all.

If you said, "I'm looking for a larger bike to replace the FZ6 that I've had for three years," then it would be different. But it sounds like you're just looking for Butt Jewelry and want the biggest bike you can get.

Listen, Junior, and listen good: unless you've had years of experience any of the bikes you listed will catapult you directly into a wall faster than you can blink, treating your body like a 100mph water balloon (with similar effect). None of the usual, "But I'll be careful!" or "I rode my friend's 125cc dirt bike last summer, I know how to ride!" crap.

Here's an analogy: if you were shopping for a handgun and didn't even know what end the bullet came out of, your question would be asking, "Should I get a .44 magnum, the .357, or the Glock? I want something that will knock me on my @ss when I shoot it."

"Fast" is determined by the rider, and handling comes down to suspension setup. Neither one is bike specific, and it takes an EXPERIENCED rider to get the best out of the bike, not some newbie Squid.

As stated previously,
R1,
FIreblade,
The other 2 don't count in the category you want.

If you had to ask this question, you have limited to no experience of larger capacity machines. Go for a sports 600.
They handle GREAT, and tend to forgive more.
Acceleration, 0-100 approx. 6 sec.
Mine is good for 160mph, and so are most modern ones.
A well ridden bike, is always going to beat a badly ridden one.
Insurance is half the price.

Hoped that helped.

Considering Rocket Ron Haslam did a lap of Donington on a CBR125r (13bhp) just 4secs slower than an experienced rider (10yrs) on a CBR600RR (100bhp) a fast rider is better than a fast bike. That said I'd go for the R1 and if you should try to put a hole in a wall with your head so be it, all the more road for the rest of us. Just make sure I'm not there cos I'm crap at first aid and I'll faint if I see blood and fall off my bike. Enjoy. The mag below has ratings for 150 bikes and loadsa kit.

GSXR 1000 or the 750. You should be able to get your hands on the K6 at abit of a saving soon as the New K7 is coming out.

But beware, ride like an **** and you'll be nicked, or worse dead in a week, and unless you've got an experienced pillion, they are not gonna enjoy the experience!

thunderace - crap
bandit - ok but completely different to the other bikes you mention and no where near as capable
fireblade - old and all these will have been thrashed and over used

get the yzfR1 - it will kill you if this is your first bike
get your will updated

if you want the best bike on the road at the moment get the gsxr1000 - agin you will be dead withina couple of weeks of owning it.
