I believe she was exposed as three chimps selotaped together and wrapped in a pink bin bag, finished with a small ginger dog that sat atop her head. Cary Grant was the one who discovered this when he tried to slip her one between takes on the set of "The Bachelor and the Bobbysoxer".
The chimps weren't particularly clever, they were just permanently dosed up on LSD.

Yes it's true. The same monkeys were also up for the part of Clyde in Any Which Way But Loose but they didn't like the way Clint was eyeing up their curly wigs and tap shoes so the Madonna monkeys got that part instead.
