Myhubby is in he US Air Force. Every unit he has worked in has had the standard black t-shirt with the embroidered patch on the chest. Many of the shirts he has are from our time in Japan and are very special to him. Naturally, he has worn the shirts to shreds but he wants to keep them for the sentimental value. I want to try and do something for him as a gift, using the patches. The shirts are simply to worn to make into a quilt and I really can't sew. I was thinking of cutting the patches from the shirt and maybe doing a shadow box with them....or find a way to use them in scrapbooking. ANy ideas or suggestions would be welcome! Thanks

The patches sound like they would look good sewn onto the back of a jean jacket, that way he would be preserving them and still be able to wear them proudly.

A shadow box sounds good or even a collage with pics of him wearing the shirts and the patches some where near the pics. This is a good idea, and a way to save his old momentous and still keep him from wearing them. My husband has lots of old sports jerseys. I think I will try this idea for him.

Thanks
