There is no meaning to life. It just is.
And the only place dead babies go is 6 feet under.

Some believe that you adopt the body you have to fulfill a need with that body. Once it is done you shed it and move on to the next phase. Either heaven or another plane.
Many believe that young children, babies or even the unborn only needed to posses that body for that short time before moving on.
They did not need to stay in the physical world for any greater length of time then they did.
This belief make it a little easier to accept. A little.
I had to start believing in this when my best friend lost her baby girl at 9 days old from birth defects. It was the only way I could accept it.
I researched for a while why she was taken from us so soon.
Beliefs help us deal with what we do not understand.

They have served a purpose by coming into this world, and if you want to believe, they have served in part of God's plan even if God did not will them to die before their time. After all, if you cannot choose to believe that God has a plan for everyone however small, then you might as well choose not to find a purpose for life, for the people still living.
I believe that life is not just a bunch of cells or a breathing creature, life is living for a purpose, if you have lived for a purpose whether you know it or not, you have had life, and a meaning to your life.

Perhaps the baby lives for a short time, but it still has a purpose. For whatever reason it is necessary for the parents to learn a lesson from it. For whatever reason they needed to know grief for future purposes. Unborn babies go to heaven and then prob. reincarnated.

Good question - for the us philosophers. I've read a couple of answers to this one.....
1. Still born babes, as sad as it is, have a purpose of teaching or providing a lesson for their parents who have to cope with loss
2. The reincarnate soul decided not to return to earth, and therefore, did not enter the body of the newborn
The soul of the child, however old it is... stays in or returns to the multiverse - the universal oneness - which some people call heaven, until they are ready to come back to earth again.

As a Christian, I believe as I have been taught, that every life has a meaning. Regardless of how long or short the life is. God creates life and as such has a purpose. Again, to understand the mind of God is to be God , so we must accept many things on faith. Any child who dies before he or she reaches the age of responsibility goes to be with God when they die.

If you ever find the answer, please let me know - I have come into contact with more death and suffering of children and newborns than can possibly be normal in the past 12 months. I have renounced religion and feel an incredible amount of anger at those who believe God is all powerful. Personally I think that life is life and nature does whatever happens without any divine intervention. If you find otherwise, please let me know.

I am not sure what to answer you for this. But, in my faith such infants are messengers of God, who reserve a place for their parents in Heaven when their parents leave the earth,
