Hi I like to hit the garage sales for bargains and other neat stuff. I live in a suburban location (fairly upscale...even though I'm a pov) and there are tons of people (mostly various dealers and ebayers) who hit the area really hard. Does anyone have tips for me? Several of the sales I've went to lately were cleared out by dealers going the night before - I may have to do this just to keep up - what peeves me though is that they just don't clear out the antiques but useful household stuff that working poor people like myself need.

I suppose you'll have to do the same. That's always irritated me as well. I have NEVER allowed anyone to pick and choose the night before whenever I have yard sales, and I wish more people would disallow this as well. Look through the paper, many times you'll find people who clearly state "No Early Sales" right in their ad.

If you want to sell a garage look for people with cars and nowhere to keep them and space in their garden.
