You could show how it is done letting the child see you or some one else do it.

I did it through play with my two, spend time playing whilst your child is sat on the potty, use lots of praise. Talk to him about not using the floor or chair etc, and how big they are etc.

By patient, don't get angry, it will take time but don't give up unless it is obvious it is too early for your child.

Have lots of fun pants for them to wear, as you may need quite a few, offer a small present if they can stay dry for x amount of time.

Good luck!!

This is going to sound stupid but it works. Put a coffee can in the bathroom. For some reason, boys get a kick out of the sound it makes when they go potty in it. That gets them into the bathroom, and then you can move them from peeing in the can to the potty and then to the tiolet. It worked great for my son.

One and a half is very young for a boy to be doing this. If you must, try making it a game. Good luck with the cleaning up!

a cousin taught her son to pee in the potty by putting a small piece of something in the water and have him aim at it. and if daddy is around have them go to the bathroom together. sons follow their dads at that age.

He is much too young to potty train......He should be between 2 1/2 and 3 years old.You have at least 1 more year to go...Don't rush it. Because of his age, you will only have problems....He is too young to understand.......

There are several video series you can use like Baby einstein etc. I would also make sure that you have lots of fun. Games and activities. :) Anything you can think of, make it a game.
