Inner-peace comes about through the process of self knowledge. Once we know ourselves, our next task is to accept ourselves, good parts and bad. Self- acceptance is the key to inner peace.
There is no specfic age that these things occur, sorry to diappoint you! Some people never get there...they stay on the path and spend a whole lot of time looking. Others, however, explore themselves, know themselves and accept themselves, thereby gaining them inner-peace.
I hope you get there.

In my opinion inner peace for most of us is a temporary condition. Imagine your emotions and thoughts are like waves at sea. A peaceful state would be a sea that is still that doesn't move or have any ripples. Peace is total darkness, no sound, or temperature, impartiality ,a detachment from the hectic external world that we are a part of. It is said that inner peace can be achieved by meditation, which is like experiencing death while you are alive. To achieve inner peace takes much practice, patience and courage. U might find some uncomfortable home truths as obstacles on your quest for inner peace. There is no specific age this should be achieved because there are some that are young heads on old shoulders and visa-versa. Its commendable that u want to know because that is the first step of the quest. But remember life is for living so live it.

Do what is right. If you have had some kind of moral or spiritual upbringing you should know if you're about to do something wrong - and stop yourself. Heaven and hell are only what we make for ourselves in this life. Karma is instant. Inner peace is achievable by having a light soul - gained by living a good life. The older you get, the more intrinsically calm your outlook becomes - but whether or not you have inner peace also depends upon what kind of life you've led up to that point. "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you."

Do you know, I am 35 qnd I don't know if you ever really know (or achieve) inner peace. I think maybe it comes when you are able to accept without fear that all life ends and that every individual has no control over their destiny, except to become the best person that they can be, who brings as much happiness and peace to others as they are able. Having said this, I think I should mention that within the last 12 months I have pretty much given up on religion and now put my fate in the hands of destiny and " Mother Earth"!

Closest thing I've seen to inner peace is Zen Buddhism
These people are absolutely at peace with themselves and the world because they have few desires.
Other religions are too busy tearing themselves apart, at each others throats the whole time.
We don't know what inner peace is in the west, we have far too driven a lifestyle.......so attend a Buddhist Master - it'll take you a lifetime to understand, though - but then, it's meant to..
Good luck

Peaceful thoughts are easier in the midst of nature, yet even there the human condition is designed to strive for better circumstances to ensure survival and to have children in the best possible surroundings
Also it is difficult to know when to accept you have enough and become content with your lot
Some people with excess wealth simply turn it over to charity to help those less fortunate and in this they find a kind of purpose in life and perhaps peace with their conscience, it doesn't mean they will stop striving to work in big business deals etcetera
Whether inner peace is very permanent is unlikely as we are all subject to pressures and our biorhythms are always at work to keep us healthy !!
Whenever you think you have it all worked out then along comes uncertainty to upset the apple cart !!

Yes there is.
Its not a thing.
' You' don't have to achieve it.
Its yours Now.
Inner-peace or peace comes naturally when you no longer identify who you are with the content of your mind.
Not as an idea or some philosophy but actually.
You are simply that awareness that is behind everything.
Behind your sense of being.
What the awareness is seeing is not at peace.
But the awareness itself is never away from peace.
The conflicts in our minds takes the attention away from just being aware. Then we dont feel at ease.
Simply bring the attention back to the awareness of it all instead of what you are aware of.
Sorry tried hard not to make this sound complicated.

This is a hard one. I'm a christian but maybe because I'm not holding on the the founder of my faith is way I don't have inner peace.
When I was trusting Jesus 100% my life was easy; not saying that I did not have problems but those problems seemed to come be delt with then blown away but now I've drifted back into the world my life is a total mess.
My advise to you (and myself) is to seek Jesus.
The Bible says "taste and see that the Lord is good" and I truly beleive this to be the case.
