Godzilla is the film portrayal of Japanese fears of a total annihilation after we dropped the A-bomb on them. Also the effects were way ahead of their time. If you do watch it, you must go with the japanese veriosn which is way better. It is also a song by the Blue Oyster Cult which totally rocks and is great for a work out collection.
