Healthy! No tricks!
Basically, eat fruits and veggies, lean protein, and drink plenty of water. Limit added sugar, caffeine and alcohol. Choose whole grain foods (ex. brown rice, whole wheat pasta). Watch portion sizes. You can still overeat on veggies! Consult a doctor and make sure you're getting all your vitamins and minerals.

Do NOT undereat. It will only hurt you.

Be safe, be responsible, be healthy!

This question worries me. It sounds like a dancer by definition is a very deprived person who has to diet all their lives, plan every piece of food and every sip. People do diets short term, but noone would want to go on a diet for life. I'd rather call it change in eating habits than diet.

It depends a lot on how old the dancer is, and if she has an obesity problem. For a healthy growing person who's not overweight it should be sufficient to avoid greasy fast food, not snack/eat after dinner and prefer juices over soda, prefer granola bars over candy bars. All this pertains to healthy habits and choices, nothing more is required in my opinion.

Good quality complex carbs like granola is a good lasting source of energy. Simple carbs like soda and sugar are less good. Fruit are good too - that's fiber and vitamins. Really, everything in moderation is OK.

If she needs to lose weight, then it becomes a different story.
