The paint work is covered for 1 year BMWs have a 6 year anti perforation warrenty that is the corrosion must be from the inside out stone chips etc excluded.Vech must under go a yearly inspection by BMW authorised service dept.Regards Mick

New ( 06 ) Have 10 years , My Wife's 650Ci ( 06 model ) has 12 due to a "Zinc Dip" asked for when we ordered it , My M3 ( 05 ) had a 10 year "Anti-rust" protection but that failed and was Re-sprayed via BMW at there cos under warranty..
That why we are now going for a New Audi A8 4.2Q ( Galvernised steel )...

Paintwork Warranty
The paintwork warranty covers your vehicle against defects such as blistering, discolouration or staining of the visible surface of all painted body panels occurring as a result of faulty manufacture or workmanship for a period of 24* months from the date of sale without any mileage limitation.
All paintwork repaired under warranty must be carried out by an Authorised BMW Dealer.

paint work warranty for rust is upto 10 years on most mainstream car producers. maybe even more.
the note above about 48 months is lacker peel etc
