Because they have more efficient policing, and
they are NOT afraid to report a crime like rape in the first place.

I think the main reason is that in many poor, undeveloped countries a huge number of crimes go unreported by victims for a variety of reasons, none of them good!

Better law enforcement reveals more accurate rates. Crappy law enforcement and corruption discourages reporting.

Higher rates of irreligiousness corellates with lower crime rates. Religious people are disproportionaly represented in prison populations.

The USA is only secular in the governmental sense and even then only grudgingly so because the vast majority of it's citizens are fairly religious with a vocal militantly hyperreligious minority. The UK is much less secular in government and much more so among it's people and much further down on your lists of crime statistics.

If you look at your own lists for the scandanavian countries, which are noteworthy for being truly secular and have large numbers of openly atheistic citizens, you'll see they are much further down on your crime lists

It is not higher if you look by PERCENTAGE and not by NUMBER!

Obviously US will have a lot of crimes because it has a LOT of people. But by percentage South American CATHOLIC countries seem to lead the way.

87.55 % of statistics are made up on the spot, or is it that we have a constitution that allows for information to be given and justified whereas a non costitutional country does not publish the figures.
and if it did so would you hold them credible. LF

It's because we have more and smarter police. In third world countries, many crimes go unreported and many others are just swept under the prayer rug. ;-)
