It is OK to have two baby showers. I,m having two shower one for my family and one for his family. My thought is that your sister will be OK with it as long as her plans will not have to change. Just reassure her that the plans for her baby shower will not change. Enjoy all the attention be happy you have so much love around you. I hoped I helped.

Hey, you take all the showering you can get! In my family there are always TONS of baby showers. When I got married I had 3 showers. There is nothing wrong with having more than one. Sometimes different groups of people don't get along and you have to have multiple showers. Consider yourself blessed for even getting 1 shower. Some women may not have any. Congratulations on becoming a new mommy!

Two showers is quite common. We had two showers for my best friend because her side of the family lived 3 hours away from her husband's. You can even invite some of the same guests; chances are some will have a time conflict with one anyway. Plus, you deserve getting "showered" with gifts; you are about to be a brand new mommy! Congratulations, and good luck!

It is perfectly fine to have 2 baby showers. It is especially nice that your mother-in-law will be able to participate since she will not be near by when your sister throws her shower for you. For the one your sister-in-law gives, invite your husband's side of the family to that one and perhaps some family friends from that side as well. Let you sister invite everyone else to the one she is giving. With my first baby, I had 3 baby showers thrown for me and except for my mother and mother-in-law, no one was invited to all 3.

I think a baby shower should be only for the first baby, but lots of people have 2 now!

Yes it is ok to have 2 showers. I did for my first baby. My m-i-l gave me one at 5 months. and my sister-in-law gave me one two weeks before the baby was born. I liked it, more cake and gifts for the baby. You can never have too many baby showers.

You can have as many baby showers as they'll give you! I am having 3 actually. I have my mom's side throwing me one, my fiance's side throwing me one, and my friends are also throwing me a shower. Enjoy both of them...there is nothing wrong with more than one shower. Most women I know have had at least 2 also.

Sure it's ok to have two showers. But if you invite some of the same people make sure they know they don't have to bring a gift to both. I had two when I had my first baby so go for it.

With the way families are spread out these days, its not unusual to have multiple showers. Just try not to give the same list of names for invitees to the host or hostess of each shower.
