After I finish my current Master's degree program, I plan to get a 2nd Master's degree in Counseling. Are the internships that are required for completion of the Counseling degree, paid? It seems like a dumb question to ask, since I have known several counselors in the past. However, honestly I don't know if they are paid or not!

They usually are not paid. But, if you go in saying that you are looking for a position, where you would be ableo work and also complete your needed hours you may have better luck. This often holds true more in non-profits. I completed an internship at the company I was already working for we were a day treatment. I just picked-up a few families to do individual and family counseling, but still completed my main job doing intake interviews, case plans, and discharges. So, it worked out. Research what is availbale in your area, MAKE SURE THAT THEY HAVE THE DISCIPLINE YOU NEED to oversee you. Psychologist, licensed Counselor, whatever the case may be. This has happened to people I knowm that they get the job start the internship and there is no one licensed to oversee and sign off on their hours.

Sometimes they are, but I think it depends on the company.
