You won't have to imagine it, if the public doesn't wise up, you will see it!! There are a lot more rabid conservatives than Bush, but they will wear a cloak of moderation during the election. They will change to get elected, like the gas prices that will mysteriously climb again right after the election.

Is one to assume that it will be replaced by the radical Left wing base ? For our sake, I hope not. Countries have hated the USA for longer than our President has been in office. He just seems the focal point of hatred from the Left. I pray that by 2008, there is someone from the middle ground that can take over. One that can work for the people of this country. But, that would be a Disney movie wouldn't it ?

President Bush isn't the divider. Politics is the divider. And because we're at war the president, no matter who it is, will not be popular. There are many Americans with their heads in the sand who need to wake up and shake off the denial syndrome. If we lose this global war on terror, we will lose our way of life and more likely our very lives. We have always had radical right wingers and radical left wingers; it's just that now our congressional personnel has lost its way and instead of working for the people who elected them, they're fighting each other. We need to address that issue in November by voting out the trouble makers.

Oh no. The radical right is still out there. Calling every Democrat a traitor and a hater of America.
Part of the problem is the way the House of Representatives is redistricted. Almost every seat is a "safe" seat, securely in the hands of one party or another. This means that nobody has to compromise to get elected.

I think Hillary would make an excellent president, it is to bad that we will never find out. The right wing hate machine will see that she will never be allowed to run. I don't think anybody could be as bad as Bush. The right wing will always be around lurking, firing false allegations and spewing hate. But as we are finding out they are their own worst enemy when they can't even live up to their own expectations. The statement that there are a lot of kooks in the world is vary descriptive of these people.

Well while I agree with you about 85% you failed on all counts to say how or why Americans were divded and how Hillary might 'do the same thing the other way'. Think out your question and state it so as not to skew opinions of readers one way or the other or leave them wondering what the hell you are talking about (evidence, you MUST substantiate your accusations). Would the end of right-wing radical rule only give way to left-wing opportunists (also vice versa) snatching any opportunity to dance a little side step (and you know what I mean) to the perimeter of his/her electorate. Sorry, college prof and I just think people should say what they really mean, which means taking more than 15 minutes hacking it out and submitting it with our name on it.

Sadly in a time when we need the strong "radical" right views and politics to handle the international unstability and with N. Korea now arming with Nuclear weapon capability its a matter of time, As far as unpopular US views , dont listen to the media hype, look at the waves of people coming here to become americans, is that proof of international hate towards Americans, Not....We need a new poliical party that truly will learn to work with others and not exile themselves within there own government....There is a chance of fair balance as long as there is a split between congress. Democrats and republicans should never have full power....it would just screw us up even more.....

Not likely. Congress divided congress about the time George Washington stepped down.
I believe the real problem is that Congress never stops being in "campaign mode". They are either working on how to get the next big contribution or the next big pork barrel project that will get them votes. Only rarely do any of them stop to do what is right for the country.
Always, "Vote anti-incumbent".

Geo W. Bush could hardly be considered right wing. In 6 yrs. in office he has only vetoed 1 spending bill. True right wingers believe in limited government and expenditures.
