too much acidic stuff can cause an ulcer

How much is too much?

It would help to know why you're asking - if it's due to a stomach ulcer ten you'll need to avoid spicy as well as acidic foods. If you're concerned about the effect on your teeth, then you'd do well to steer clear of soft drinks, espesh fizzy ones.

Remember that your stomach uses hydrochloric acid to break down the food that you eat though, so avoiding stress and eating regularly is always good.

The last 2 answers are bang on, I had problems for years with acid indigestion and i masked it with Ant acids like rennie and Zantac for years, then they didn't do anything anymore, i got prescription stuff and they caused loads of side effects then i saw someone about Electronic Resonance Therapy, it's like an Allergy test and checks if you have Parasites or any infections. My joints used to give me a lot of grief, swell up badly, and i used to get backache a lot. It turns out my body was very acidic, i was eating too many acidic foods and drinks and when you do that and you couple that with ant acids, you body gets rid of the acid in other ways, in your saliva, sweat, and dumps it in cavities in your body like joints causing toxic build up. You get dry skin as well from the acidic sweat. You can check how acidic you are if you drink a lot of water to clean you mouth and then just use Litmus paper. I ate lots of alkaline foods (you can find these out on websites) for about 2 months and i felt a thousand times better.

So the answer is...YES

Maybe... your body can compensate for some acidic foods better than others, and everyone is different, but theory tends to indicate your body wants to be slightly alkaline in pH. It's not so much about the acidity of the food as it is about whether or not the food is 'acid-forming', so if you feel like experimenting on your pH balance cut out meat (especially red) , alcohol, tobacco, chemicals, additives, preservatives, and excess sodium, drink lots of water if thirsty, and eat lots of green vegetables.

It depends on how your stomach digests what you are eating. Many people can handle a lot of acidic foods while many others cannot. In some cases, your ability to take in a lot of acidic foods may decrease as you get older.
