Yes I have, I don't know how after 9/11 we could just sit back & do nothing without having that happen over & over again to us.

Yes it is very very sad all the lives we are losing & we probably will never change things over there.

I once thought it would be a good idea to free the people of Iraq and of the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. However as history and current events tell us, the people of Iraq really don't want their freedom, or at least don't know what to do with it. When I say people I suppose mostly I mean those in power or those who want power who are out there killing the innocent much like Saddam did. Originally I supported this idea, because I felt the Iraqis deserved and wanted freedom. History serves and tells us that these people have never really seem to be at peace and have been fighting for centuries. So history has been against us the whole time during this conflict. Even though I whole heartily support the troops because they are there serving our country, I question why we are bothering to try to free those who don't want their freedom. I do believe that President Bush's intentions were genuine and sincere.

Bush himself never gave any thought to whether invading Iraq was right or wrong; he just knew he wanted to do it and was going to kick and scream like a spoiled brat until he got what he wanted. If he truly cared about right or wrong he would have paid attention to ALL the facts and opinions on the subject instead of only the falsified ones which supported the invasion.

No he was never right, and NO Hillary does not support Bush... I can't say the same about Lieberman though he's off in Pat Buchanon land now (changed to Independent... due to losing the primary), and NO Iraq wasn't... isn't and has never been connected to Al Quaeda. Ya know, goin through the already posted answers I was hoping everyone has stopped watching Fox News... but the "Hillary supports Bush" and the redneck comment about assuming Iraq and 9/11 were one in the same dashed my hopes. The real question should be... HOW CAN WE STOP FOX NEWS???

Define 'right'

The reasons given do not hold up to scruitny. The threat posed by the Iraqis was never substantiated. No diect link with the purpitrators of the WTC attack has ever been established. Saddam had an appalling human rights record, but so have many governemnts the US considers to be allies. And far from imporvingthe lot of the average Iraqi, the country is now in chaos, on the brink of civil war.

So no, for most people, it was not the right thing. If you accept that he had a different agenda, it could be argued that he was 'right' by his own targets and standards.

One would have to be a total eejit like bush to believe that he was right!

Oil is the only reason he is there.

When Saddam was allied to the US he could kill who he wanted. Even to the extent that the US tried to help cover up the mass murder of the Kurds (with cemicals supplied by the UK and US). But when Saddam wouldn't stay on side he all of a sudden became this mass murderer with weapons of mass destruction (ha ha) and a threat to the "Free" Ha world!

So why on let's say the Friday night he was best buddies with the US (kill who he wants because he is allied to the US) and over the weekend they fell out because Saddam wanted more for himself. Now he still kills the same political opponents as he did when allied to the US and so on. But now he is world enemy number one!

Can anyone spot the difference in the killings he did post fall out and pre fall out? And why the US etc accepted these killings as ok before and not after?

I agree. The one thing I would say though is we should never have pulled out at the end of the Gulf War in the first place. Personally I think that this is unfortunately only the beginning and whether I agree that the reasons given for invasion were true or not I still believe that it was right... As they will be right when we eventually have to invade Iran and North Korea --- Unfortunately the ends justifies the means and these people are dangerous (yes I accept America is dangerous and so is Britain too but two wrongs don't make a right). The West is in danger from Islamic states who's policies state that they will TOLERATE other religions... Any country who can only tolerate rather than accept is always going to be a threat.

World integration isn't going to happen in the near future, and unfortunately I think that we will hit a world war within the next 20 years. This will be communism and Islam against the rest of the world (ie China/Russia/Pakistan).

There was definitely a reason why he invaded, they must have seemed a large threat, Saddam needed to be taken out of power but was war the right option, was their not a better way to do the war on terror, better security on planes, better intelligence to investigate things. The war is still going after 5 years, the extremist and gorilla groups don't seem to want any peace and our troops are dying out there, maybe it is time to set up plan for Iraq to rule itself and pull all the remaining troops out.

I still believe that it was the right thing to do at the time. How we handled the aftermath is the issue. We need to finish it, no matter how ugly it has been. The Iraqi people need to stand up and put a halt to the massacre that exists there. Behind it all is Iran. So , if you put into context , "the axis of evil" comment made by our president several years ago, was he really wrong ? Until Russia, China, and France quit thinking with their wallets and start thinking of the best interest of the people of the world, we are freedoms only hope.

Hindsight may be 20-20, but in this case foresight was as well.

There are a great many of us who advised against the invasion who predicted almost perfectly everything that has happened since in Iraq.
