I actually came up with a monster at work last night. I don't know how "unique" he is in makeup, but the details are everything...

Without overwhelming you with the monster's place in the story growing in my head, he looks rather like a small lion; he looks like he has wings, but they're actually leafy outgrowths. The lion is part plant as well, and his body is mottled with a rich red-brown color and a dark green.

Being part plant and part animal, he can walk around freely, but he can't leave the valley where he was born (hatched? sprouted?). He can look into water and see what is happening anywhere, at any time or place, in any universe. He is wise, he is not kind, he is not very powerful, but he is just. Because he can see everything at any time, and even feel the motives in people's minds, he acts as a spiritual arbiter. He is jealous of those who can come and go as they please, but he doesn't allow that to cloud his judgement.

Every morning, when the sun rises in the valley, he awakens and has a fight to the death with a boar who also lives there. The boar comes back to life each day to fight again. They have been doing this forever and will do it forever. By fighting the boar, he helps to save all of existence each day. At night, a ferocious bird fights the lion and kills him, but he too comes back to life each morning.

You know, I like all of this, but I think this might be more about the valley than the lion. Suffice to say, the valley is a kind of monster in and of itself...

My unique monster could seem in basic terms like my mom, yet my monster could have a stunning character, be variety, considerate, honest, non-judgemental and could truly Love Me for me!
