Since one of the countries in the axis of evil now has nuclear weapons, should the US without delay unleash a torrent of military destruction on that country? It appears diplomatic efforts are useless. What are your thoughts?

It should not be taken off of the table. We do not have the luxury of letting them attack us with a nuclear device. It does not matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, if they attack you will be dead. That leaves little room for debate, we must show them that we mean business.

What should ideally happen is that North Korea's neighboring countries join together to stop them from having nuclear weapons. If diplomatic talks would not work, then the surrounding countries should "take out" North Korea's nuclear sites. If the surrounding countries will not do this, and no other country will do this, I think the US should take out the nuclear sites and leave everything else in tact. Then, if Korea declared war on the US, then let's go. I don't believe in War, but North Korea is a danger to the whole world because their leader acts like he suffers from a paranoid mental illness and wants to wipe out millions of people for no reason.

It is time for the UN , not the USA , to show what type of organization it really is. If it goes into long negotiations with North Korea , then it would prove again that the world does not have the guts to stand up to a dictator. It was the lack of action that got the USA into Iraq in the first place. If the UN fails again on Korea, we should bomb the UN building and no North Korea.

In October 1950, China entered the Korea war and kicked our butts. They dared us to drop the atomic bombs on them. They knew their population was so large that for us to be able to put a dent in it would have caused so much atomic energy to have been expended the world as we knew it would have ceased to exist. Well, they have even more people now; we would have a hard time using nukes on North Korea, as due to their proximity to South Koreas we would be killing an ally. The North Koreas rolled over the South in 1950 but would have a harder time this time but would prevail. Japan has a non-aggression Constitution but I believe they would have to come to the aid of the South. If not and the North wins and eventually rolling over Japan. I don't think American could stop them this time, too much political correctness plus bog brother China. No, North Korea would not be someone anyone should wake up!

We will go to war with N.K. It will be an easy battle. its called the U.S Navy and Air Force. I used to be in the Army and have Friends in all services (Except the coast guard) and have to give props to the Navy and Air Force for keeping us safe. Yes, N.K has one of the largest armies in the world but its using old soviet style tactics. We Americans have mastered the fundamentals of symmetrical warfare and in my personal opinion this war would be easier than Iraq because after the war is over the country is to weak to resit. they barley have running water let alone anyone owing a car. Many people even haven't left their own village because its so hard to move around the country. Those old tactics put boots in nice little formations for us to bomb them. We don't even have to put troops into the battle if we didn't want to. it would probably be easier. LOL!

that would be pretty dumb.
it would make a lot of other countries very uneasy.
we are already at war in the middle east, its not going swimmingly.
not to mention we already have lots and lots of nuclear weapons so that would probably make us look stupid too.
as for rightwing up there...
we've already nuked japan... everyone there isnt dead. a nuclear hit on the us would not be the end of thisw country. if they did that we'd probably nuke them if it wouldnt destroy our relation in the region and thier country is FAAAAAAAR smaller than ours. They COULD nearly all be wiped out. At least their government would probably be destoyed!

The USA has a lot of it's resources in Iraq, so it would be hard fight Noth Korea.
BUT, if we're gonna fight them, we'd better do it soon before they get more nukes, on longer rockets!
North Korea is a global threat.

I really think that we have nothing to worry about. Keep in mind that their missiles can only go so far. I really do not think that it is up to Us to declare war. Look at what we are doing in he Middle East. We have been over there for 5 years. And really has it help.
