If we are then that means that we have the essence of universal goodness, or the best of the creation resides in us because of us. We can then understand that we will survive all ages of the universe. And if we are not the best and there are some other alien beings in the far flung corners of the universe better and more capable than us that we can understand that we do not have the best of the creation; that we are not indispensable, the essence of creation will exist even without us.

Crickets are the best! I mean look at them - they sit there in the grass chirping away, and when you go near them PING! they're gone, fantastic!

Where the parameters are human, yes, we're the best - although that isn't saying much, and we've a long way to develop, I hope! But an ant is better at being an ant than we are; and the same goes for fleas, cockroaches, etc. It seems every living thing has some particular speciality it is better than anything else at. The pity is that whilst most individuals in most species do their particular thing remarkably well intuitively, humans, with the power of imaginative and critical intelligence, are also most remarkable for not using it as they might. And often for harm, as any newscast shows. So our best is patchy! But like Earth itself, it's all we've got, so we had better get better at distinguishing between fantasy which is interesting, and reality which is vital.

Since everything in existence evolved and was not created, the question is meaningless. The universe will go on without us or aliens either 'better' or 'worse'.

the essence of creation does not exist without us, our reality is a mental construct only, you use these terms "best" and "goodness" but in itself these words are void as our human classification system is false, true also that the words "are" and "is" are null... as are true and false..??

I often think some of the higer ape species are genuinely better than we are because they lead more peaceful and caring lives than humans generally do.

It really does depend on what you define as `best'. Do you mean best as in efficiency, best as in effectiveness, best as in compassion, cognitive ability? We are one of, if not the most destructive species we know of so far.
