Depends what you are growing, overall, I would have to say Washington State.

I agree that it depends on what you want to grow but here in Michigan we can grow lots of stuff really well. Our apples are great. Not as good as Washington state maybe but really yummy. We are a big soy bean and celery producer too. And our cherries are wonderful.

I personally seem to be able to harvest a great crop and variety of weeds. :o) I can also grow lots of flowers both annuals and perennials and my daughter who lives near by has a terrific veggie garden. We had a lot of rain in my area this year and lots and lots of heat and things grew fantastically well. Seems like a lot of produce and fruit in stores comes from either California, Texas or Florida, though.

Depends on what you wish to garden! I've lived in California (too dry) and Texas (too humid and hot) and the north (too cold)...but I know that the Carolinas and Washington/Oregon have some great growing areas.

The pacific Northwest, Washington state and Oregon. I know that everything grows here in Oregon. The Mesa valley in Colorado has very good soil, but sometimes harsh winters and it is a very high altitude.

It all depends on what you want to plant, different things do better in different climates. Check out a Farmers Almanac.

Interesting you have an answer from India..... well it IS an international site and India does have states, so here we see how important it is to say where we live when ask a gardneing question.
Anyway, I would say every state in thre US is good for growing ... but each will be good for grwoing for different plants.
