Italy beat Australia by luck. If it wasn't for the penalty Italy would have lost, which would have been embaressing for Italy to lose against a country that is a begginer in football.

You got it all mixed up. Australia could not beat Italy with a man advantage, that should speak of their ianbility more.
If you watch football, you'd realise that there have been several instances when a team that has a player less, actually go on to win the contest.
Egs: Italy 1-0 Norway, USA 1994
France 3-0 Brazil 1998 WC Final
Spurs 3-4 Man City FA Cup 2005. City were 0-3 down and had a player sent off at half-time.

Well I am Australian too and very proud of our boys and their performance and effort. Yes the penalty was contentious but that is football. I was pretty devastated to be defeated in that way and the game probably deserved to be decided in a better fashion but it wasn't. That takes nothing from the effort of either team. The boys will have learnt a valuable lesson from that match and as long as they learn from it all is not lost. We shouldn't denigrate their efforts by making them victims. They are getting themselves together and they will have their fair share of wins and losses in the future. It's a building and learning process and we should be proud of the job they did. Maybe they would have gotten the result in overtime but maybe not. No one really knows. Just remember, there is another chance for them in 2010 and we will be behind them all the way again. Football results are sometimes hard to swallow but we have to let it go and try to make sure the result is better next time.

I would not call australia beginner football. Anyways even if the penalty was not called both teams still had an equal shot to win the game so i would not say that italy wouldve lost.

You only think it would be embarrasing cause now they're above anyone else...
but if you went back in time and think "Italy lost to Australia, it would ring no bell"
Italy can kick Australia's derriere any day, cause like some commentator said once "Good teams know how to pull it together"
It's not my fault Germany and Australia are not up to Italy's level yet, so you can't call that luck amigo.

good point , it means that australia was the only team who played good football against italy , its a point to think about .that penalty really changed history , who would have thought that .

You know i absolutely agree with zizou_rocks..... That's the same story as in the Final of World Cup....... It was luck, cause France played damn better... it's true..... you know i really don't like penalties........it's totally unfair, that penalty decides who wins..... especially if it's world cup!!! i wish someday Italy won't have luck and we'll see how they truly play.... sure not really good.......heh
