In the NBA, you have a choice of two players. Manute Bol (who, by the way, is still alive, carissa) at 7'7", and used to play for the Golden State Warriors, Washington Bullets, and the Sixers, or Gheorghe Mureşan, who was also 7'7", and reportedly a few millimeters taller than Bol, though that has never been confirmed. Mureşan played for the Washington Bullets and the New Jersey Nets

Yes Gheorge Muresan and Manute Bol were both the tallest NBA Players. Both sucked but obviously could've been great centers because of their height. I would say the tallest effective player is no doubt Yao Ming. Those 2 other guys were only in the league cuz of height. Yao actually has skill

in the NBA , Manute Bol , 7'7". I saw him in Oakland , playing for the "Golden State Warriors" . I was sitting 16 rows above the court and still had to look up . A great person as well , almost died in an auto incident , is currently working for charity .

Manute Bol was his name. He was a big African guy. About 7 foot 10 I think.
