I often like to do this- bbq's in the summer are great as are xmas parties. You only have to be with the people you like and don't have to worry about getting home!

Not here in Canada where I live right now but when I lived in Czech republic we had parties like that every weekend,it was much cheaper than going to bars and we could do whatever we wanted. Here in Toronto I am renting the apartment so I can't make noise after 10p.m.In Czech rep.nobody cares...I went there in May and partied straight for 3 weeks...In Canada I have a party every Tuesday in my friend's house,we both work on weekends so we can't go anywhere,we also don't feel like going to bars too much because we can't smoke there so we rather invite some friends over, bring bottles and party on the garden.

Until quite recently a group of my friends lived in a house that is now just known as 'Balfour Road'. In the 7 years that the house was rented 30 different people had stayed there.

We ahd the best parties you could possibly imagine, Bonfire Partys, Christmas partys in the middle of the summer, barbeques, birthday parties.

We would come back from clubbing and stay up all night doing insane things before crawling to the pub the mext day nursing our hangovers.

They were some of the best times I have had in my life and I miss the place terribly.

Not every weekend but love having people over for some food and drinks. Its much cheaper than going to the pub and at least you have somewhere to sit and hear eachother talking. Sometimes in the pub we get separated. We had a party at a friends house this weekend. We all helped with the cooking and cleaning and had great fun. Think its my turn next!

no chance its bad enough doing housework now. Having a party every week would be madness not only triple amount of housework you would have to do but i dont think neighbours would be impressed. My opinion going out meeting new people is by far the better choice

I've only had 1 get together in my house. If there is drink involved, I'd rather have it out side of my house, as the cleaning is always left to me! Why oh why do men throw up so much?

I have loads of parties and get togethers - they are fun and it doesn't cost you the earth - going to a pub is soooo expensive these days.

And of course you don't have to stop drinking or partying at 11pm.

No. But I imagine it would be better and cheaper than going out if that is what you prefer.
