Jesus sent himself. He was just another guy, a carpenter, with delusions of being the messiah. All through history there have been these people with mental problems who consider themselves to be the messiah or a prophet. Just look at the cults you read about in the news today with leaders who claim to be sent by God and all their whacked out followers. That's just how Christianity started. That goes for all other religions too.

God loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to pay the price for our sins, because we could not pay that price on our own, and by making Jesus our Lord and Savior and mediator between us and God (1 Timothy 2:5), we can spend eternity with Him in heaven. Feel free to e-mail me at chad@jesusfreak.com if I can answer any questions for you. Have a good day.

Just to add-on to mass.brain: the followers of cults and end-of-the world messianistic movements are seen throughout history. Even in recent times with Jim Jones, the Waco dude, and the polygamist, you can see people being duped by the soothsayers and hypnotic cult leaders.
Messianistic movement are based on a chosen few people or ones that elevate a particular ethnic group to the status of a "chosen nation" that have a special place among the humankind - either by virtue of being "saved" itself, or by virtue of delivering "salvation" to the rest of humankind.
If there was a world vote on religions, jesus would not be in the running...so it's safe to say the the 'jesus' messianistic movement is not democratic....but i digress. You ask 'who' sent jesus for us? Like mass.brain stated, he sent himself and those leaders before him and those after him continue to prey on the feeble minded.

God sent Jesus to die for our sins. The price of sin is death and we all deserved to die for our sins. So out of love for us, God sent His own Son to die in our place. That's why we can gain salvation through Jesus to this day. Are you in need???

God sent us not as a messenger as a saviour and as bridge to God and people. to save our souls from eternal death, he died as a scapegoat.and he showed the example of how to live, we have to follow.
