If you know something that you should tell but decied not to, for reasons best known to yourself, can it be considered a lie?

There are two types of lies...lies of commission where you tell something that is not true so you commit a lie and lies of omission in which you do not tell anything but you omit the truth. Both can be very hurtful and the only way people can make good sound decisions is if they know the truth. Ask yourself if you would want someone to omit a truth you needed to know

YES to most people.
Your reason for not telling has to be on the up and up,
Who would benefit from it.
f its something that is for sure to come out
Is there a reason it has to come from you?.
When and if it was known that you knew and didn't tell
and were asked Why? ,

deception is the end result of a lie. Whether it is overt, telling a lie, or covert, a lie of omission, the end result is the same. Someone else is being purposely misled.

the only time it will be a lie. if you tell a lie.. It's best to be truthful, less headache and heartache, no matter what..

it doesnt matter what the label is... lie / not a lie... etc... do what's right! if you should speak up, speak up. if you should be quiet, then be quiet.
