Seven long week end would be better Friday/ Monday X 7= 14 days. My husband does this with the rest of his holiday entitlement. It is much better for us especially as he works away from home. We get to see more of each other.

However it really depends if you want to go away on Holiday then surely 14 days would be preferable, as if you include the weekends in that equates to 18 days.

There is not many weeks left before the end of the year, so as long as your company are willing to it, I would take Friday/Monday off for 7 weeks in a row, therefore you only work 3 days a week for the next 7 weeks. Sounds good to me.

Yeah take a full week off to fully recharge your batteries, and then take 7 long weekends.

If you have to work over the Christmas period it may be wise to take some of those days off between Christmas and New Year, so you have a nice uninterrupted break then too.

A combination of the two is always good. Bu tif you need to relax, then a fortnight defintely wins. Have a week then keep the rest for emergencies/long weekends.

It's already a popular answer, but I thought it too:

Have one proper week off, and have 7 long weekends. A fortnight off is useless unless you actually have something planned in it. A week is useful to recharge your batteries though.

I would take two one-week holidays.

I find one week is long enough, and you can always go back to the same place in 5 years time.

I've just spent a week in Italy (3 days in Venice and 4 days in Rome). Very pleasant.
