I think it's best not to be friends when we are ex-lovers. You will definitely think about the past. It may hurt you. Most of the girls will just lose contact with their ex-lovers.

It can truly happen without any slipping back into old romances. I dated a guy for 3 years & when we broke up I didn't want to lose the friendship we had & neither did he. We would tell each other about our new love & offer advice. When you know someone so well it's hard to turn away & never have any contact again.

It seems quite hard to me, but providing they have made some
mutual agreements, it...might work.
I don't know what rumor has it in the States, but in Greece is still
quite strange two X lovers to go on as friends!
(cults and rituals! hehehe!)
Ciao.....John-John.

For the mature people yes it does exist. I just spoke to my exfiance about 2 weeks ago and she just got married. I was so happy for her. We dated for about 3-4 years about 20 years ago.

I have tried that one before, it only works to open old wounds. I think the best you can do is be civil, don't heat one another but move on. If you can avoid each other, better.

hhhmmmmm...... let me see the usual routine is that they say that they are nothing but friends then they go on a formal date and calls it something else and then they have sex but still friends. i dont see how a person can completely get over another and live on im not saying its impossible its just that it seems to be a little un-realistic to me

It will be a lil bit complicated, specially if some feelings left.
In my opinion, anything can be worked out.
