Hide and seek. I just love it when I find a question I can answer.

It was a game that we called, "Ditch". It was based off of Hide N' Seek and Tag, but one of the big differences from Hide N' Seek was that our game was played in teams and we played the entire block.

It was mostly my younger brother, the boys from next door, a few kids from down the block, and when she got older my younger sister. We hid everywhere we could; in bushes, under porches, and even up in trees. Eventually, when we got older and we were allowed to venture further away from home we expanded our game to include an even bigger agea to make it even more challenging.

Finding them was only half the battle, because once you found them you had to tag them with your hand for them to be caught, and sometimes that presented a problem depending on where they were hiding. For example: if you found one of the opposing team members and he was up a tree, but you weren't a very good tree climber, then you would either have to wait until one of you team members came along to help you or go look for some one to help you. Unfortunately, if you went to look for someone the chance of the person still being there when you got back was going to be pretty slim.

Also, depending on how athletic and crazy the hider is that you have cornered up in the tree is he may still get away even if you did get help; that is if you weren't careful to make sure you weren't prepared for him making some daring move like jumping out of the tree from several levels up to get away from the person who came to help you, and now just has to worry about out running you on the ground.

Some of us were very athletic and fast on our feet, so we were good at climbing trees and jumping over 4 foot fences without even touching them.

Unfortunately, I don't have the health that I use to have. I was crushed between a locomotive and a wall in 1980 and my right ankle got crushed, so now it's fused in one position and I was left with poor circulation. Needless to say, it really slowed me down.

Over the years, I developed athritis in the same leg and other parts of my body due to the accident. Then, a little over 2.5 years ago I discovered that I have a massive blood clot (DVT) in the same leg, which my Doctors tell me was probably caused by the poor circulation in my ankle. Plus, all other kinds of health problems have shown up.

Basically, I have the health of an 85 year old man and I'm only 47.

I had four favorites when I was little and they were: Sonic The Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat 3(on the Sega), Super Mario All-Stars, and Killer Instinct. It was wierd because I was the only girl(at the daycare I stayed at) to play video games.

Knucklebones and elastics. I had a game called hungry hippos but my parents wouldn't let me play it because it was too noisy.
