Some people are just curious as to what others might say or feel, or their views and opinions on the subject. Probably not because they truely seek the answer, but to learn if others might view life as they do or completly different.

Can't say fooling around - it costs 5 points and every 10th question is re. meaning or purpose of life.
I would say the serious guys are catching at straws in desperation to find a solution to the question that they believe is the most important, one that alone can guide them how life ought to be lived.
The wonder is that every time so many answers do come for this question, from all quarters. I suppose, it is like if no one knows, I too can answer and take 2 points home.

Because they haven't read the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy...42!!!
I suppose some of them do think they could find the answer to their own search for philosophical truth or whatever its called on t'internet, which is a bit stupid personally, although some could be simply wanting advice to make their own decision and live a better life or whatever the philosophers say!
On the other hand, there are always the few that try and look clever and test the system, or are just having a laugh. Either way, its their points they are losing!

Why are so sensitive about the questions in :Yahoo Answers? Your question is not any way better than theirs, nor my answer any the better and no body becomes any wiser because of this. Yahoo Answers, in my opinion, gives an outlet for my many and many get opportunity to let out what they know about a question. It is fun. Of course, there are some really wonderful questions, which may or may not elicit good responses. Some silly question, may understand bring out very good answers. Hence, you ought not be censorious about the questions. They are indeed many slices of life that one comes across while responding questions and reading the answers, from different places all over the world.

I think some of them are fooling around, some of them are just curious and others maybe feeling lonely and depressed about something and not have anyone else to talk to. I normally try and give people the benefit of the doubt on yahoo questions, rather than sending them snotty answers (but occasionally i send a snotty one)

each and every physique gets excited while an "actual" profile asks a question. And it happens to no longer be *any* actual -- it quite is the guy who's supposedly THE Yahoo! solutions guy! (Or gal even if lol) They get lots of solutions because of the fact they are additionally featured on the front internet site of Y!A -- everytime somebody logs into Y!A, they are immediately taken to the front internet site and in the event that they are paying interest to that cream colored field, the Yamster's question pops up. It gets extra interest being on the front internet site, extra each and every physique is able to view it, so extra each and every physique is keen to reply to it. you're appropriate -- if the conventional Joe have been to ask this question, it could have died an hour (on the main) after having been published. yet being on the front internet site, being an "actual" profile, having lots of stars (hence Contacts of human beings who starred it are additionally shown the question)... all provides as much as hundreds of solutions and hundreds of stars! Is it trustworthy? Eh, no longer likely. yet so what, it quite is in basic terms Y!A lol

There is a plethora of info floating around you just have to know where to look for it. Remember : Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and its' righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.

The main reason is; there is an inner feeling of incompleteness. One of a searching for something not precisely known, yet knowing it would enhance their life should they find it. Those who make this statement understand what is being said here. Many do not experience this question during their lifetime. Most do not want to expose themselves to ridicule, by making this statement.

Frustrated/Aimless people ask such question and offcurse they are fooling around on internet.
Meaning of life you can understand only after sitting with old people, after passing your atleast fifty years of life,
when you will feel that you have wasted lots/or all of your life fooling around.
