hi all,my dads found some fossils & nice stones & would like to try his hand at lapidary.he doesnt want to go down the tumbler route.does anyone know of anywhere in the uk (or uk internet sites) that sell cutting,grinding & polishing machines (or prefably an all in one) that he could use so that the stones get polished etc where he wants them polished?

You could try one of the mini drills that are available You can buy a lot of accessories for them including polishing pads. Have a look in places like B&Q, Homebase Etc . I recently bought some pads and sanding discs in our local market for mine and it only cost £3.
