death isn't hostile at all. In fact it could be the most peace one could ever imagine. How hte death ocurred could be considered as hostile (meaning violent). Like if the person was brutally murdered, that would be extremely hostile.
What could be worse than being murdered? I suppose having to survive the assault as a crippled person. Or maybe being the loving family or friend of the victim. I guess there really is no worse thin in this world than our hate for each other & similarly there is nothing greater than our love for each other.
Peace to you.

and why should death be hostile?
we all fear it as it is the unknown, but we should try and get over it and enjoy life fully, then when we die that is it, so you've nothing to worry about. it's a new beginning if you like.

Eternal seperation from God. "“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." - Matthew 10:27-28
