Blue and white usually goes well with a yellow or gold tie. Try a few on. Although, depending on how bold the striped are on your shirt, stay away from patterned ties and go for solid colors. Typically, you should have a max of two striped items in your outfit (Suit and shirt, shirt and tie, or tie and suit.) Plain red also works with about any shirt and shows confidence, i.e a power tie.

Here's a website that may help you decide. Here is part of what it says about blue and white striped shirt:

http://necktieaficionado.com/How-To-Match.html

"First, look at the shirt from a distance and decide on what color you primarily see. Based on this color, add a coordinating color tie. However, be careful, the best coordinated look for a striped shirt needs to be in the pattern AND color. For example, if you see mostly navy blue stripes, add a yellow tie with a box pattern or a pin dot or polka dot patter. Today, you can even add a beautiful paisley pattern."

My boyfriend had this problem last week for a wedding and he went with a dark navy blue as his shirt was mostly light blue stripes. Pink also looked good, White faded into the background too much and didn't look right. I think a dark blue is possibly the best option.

Solid blue tie - the same colour (as near as) as the stripes in your shirt.

Options are endless. It also depends on the blue.
Small prints, red, navy, gold, white, some blues.Even a diagonal stripe could work.
