He's not a good sportsman at all - he doesn't take loosing at all well, and insufferably smug - here is one formula 1 fan who is glad he is retiring at the end of this season!

I wouldn't go as far to say that he is a cheat, he is a genius behind the wheel of a car, and like a lot of geniuses, he's flawed. His mind sometimes works too quick and makes the wrong choice (Monaca 2006). Senna had the same problem, but because he died he's remembered in a favourable light.

I'm no Schumacher fan, and I do think that the FIA are trying to give him this year's title as a retirement present, however I do respect the man for his achievements - he is one of the greatest F1 Drivers the world will ever see, but he has been 'helped' along the way more than any other driver and has had less competition than people such as Senna, Prost, Mansell and Piquet who all raced against each other. His talent and skill came into F1 at exactly the right time to make him the dominant force.

He's a great sportsman but not always a good sport (ask Damon Hill).

As good a driver as has ever been - remember the Spanish GP when he came second despite being stuck in 5th gear for most of the race? - but, like many great champions, his hatred of losing sometimes gives him an unwelcome edge of gamesmanship.

Unfortunately he is neither.
If he was a cheat he would get found out and be penalised for it.
He is good at what he does, but unfortunately that does not make him a good sportsman. He is prone to tantrums and sulks when he does not win, and that does not apply to a good sportsman.

Ask yourself how many times he has been caught cheating and penalised. He has dominated the `so called` sport mainly because of his teams prefered status and the rules being bent to accommodate them.
Look at Monaco this year, what a **** !
Look at the Alonso holding up Massa in qualifying fiasco, although he was 100+metres ahead, Alonso sent to the back of the grid for being a naughty boy, but at Suzuka, Massa stalks around in front of Alonso braking and slowing down in the most obvious attempt to ruin Alonso`s qualifying lap and nothing happens.
Mass dampers, they could not get theirs to work, so they get Renault`s device banned, movable aerodynamic devise, are they crazy, it does not protrude into the airflow at all...look at all the `traction control` issues over the past years, banned, but everyone knew that ferrari were using it. They are smug creeps and they have continually brought the sport into disrepute...God knows what they have been doing to Bernie Ecclestone, but it has worked eh !
That is schumacher and ferrari for you.
Thank God he is going maybe us real motor racing fans might have some kind of sport to watch, rather than the `entertainment` that is now on offer.

I like to think that he is a good sportsman, but I'm sure that I will be proved wrong at the next race - he may do anything necessary to make sure that he finishes first!!! He's done it before, and for less high stakes too!!

i think schumacher is a good driver but not as great as the media or his statistics say he is. am not sure if he would have won as many championships if he had not taken some benneton staff with him when he switched over to ferrari. i would not go as far as calling him a cheat, because he often followed the rules and tries as much as possible to get an advantage where ever he can for example asking his team mate to use more of his tyres for testing so that he, schumacher, will have more new tyres for the race. he is a very good driver but i think the current young drivers are as good as he is.

A cheat and a whiner. 7 championships-big deal! With the equipment he has had over the years, my grandmother could've won in those cars.
