If you want to make a leap forward and start listening ot "Metal" (more complex and advanced than "Rock"), try "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. Absolutely amazing.
Other great songs from hard rock bands (not metal though) include:
* "What It Takes" and "Angel" by Aerosmith.
* "When It's Love" and "Why Can't This Be Love?" by Van Halen.
My personal favorite though is the Metallica song.
