What is the impact of tyroid malfunction during pregancy ? Should pregancy planning be post-poned until the problem is solved ?

Both my sister and myself, both ended up with underactive thyroids after our pregnancies.

Her was much worse than mine, and it took years to control. When her bub was born he even had lots of tests because his thyroid was not right, but he ended up ok.

We both have to take thyroxin............all of it was from pregnancy

There USUALY isn't a thyroid "malfunction" during pregnancy.
Any preparations before pregnancy is ALWAYS a great thing to do! But you can't ever be TOTALY prepared. You just do the best you can. Yes, solve as many problems as you can before a pregnancy as they have their own "problems" (not nessessarily problems) to go through! Pregnancy and having a human being being an addition to your life is LIFE CHANGING so, as always, do the best you can to be healthy, educated and prepared!

after my first preg I had tyroid problem
my son is healthy and I have 2 more after (all healthy)
I still have them test yearly to make sure
but me I still have to take Syntroid
