i had my carb (on my honda custom 250cc) dismantled and cleaned the other day,,, drove it out of the garage, it felt just fine. yesterday it suddenly started stalling evey time i let go of the throttle. i wound up the idle screw to a max and it still was cutting out on idle, but driving fine. this morning started fine at first but then maintaining a stedy grip on the throttle, the engine started reving up then down by its self then stalling after 20-30 seconds,, after five minutes of reving something seemed to give and i mannaged to drive to work ok, if somewhat erratically. now ive gon to start it again and its doing the same thing... what is happening???

sounds like the primary jet has fallen to the bottom of the float bowl I would take it back to who ever repaired it . or it is flooding.
the needle and seat may be stuck or have an obstruction.either way take it back to have it looked at. you don't want to have a fire while you are riding it !! lots of luck :) one other thing the bowl vent may be obstructed any way take it back

if possible, pull the breathers. Stick your fingers into each carb, and push up on the brass slide barrell. Each should take about 1 sec to reach bottom again. Make sure they each go all the way down. Next loosen the screws on the bottom of the bowls to drain a little fuel out of each. Start the bike. If it still does it, i would say vacuum leak or slide needle is malfunctioning. Maybe a fuel filter wouldn't hurt, either.

Sound like it has a Vacuum leak (something came loose or did not get tightened properly)

check the rubber boot that the carb mounts to. It could be loose sucking air. other than that check the tank vent. hope this helps

don't try to tighten it youself - it is easy to warp these parts by over-tightening.
