k here we go
first if you wanna start to feel more feminine go for manicure , pedicure e.t.c and that gives you a quick an easy femininity boost... and boosts ur confidence 2! (double bonus)
also go and have ur hair sorted out and you will feel an altering... trust me this works
so now with make-up... i would say to use products like avon, max factor and seventeen... that dont have such intimidating colours like other make-up brands (example barry m and mac) that will intimidate you and are difficult to apply. for a start go for lighter tones of eyeshadows... they have to go with ur complexion. if ur olive skin golds, bronzes and greens and browns go really well and if uve got darkish hair purple (which is also in fashion this yr) works really well... x
also buy a foundation and concealer and powder if you wanna go for the whole job ... you aply concealer first on the areas below the eyes and on any spots that you would like to cover up and then you apply foundation all over the face in small quantities though and in a shade that matches ur own skin colour (dont forget to buy a lighter colour concealer) and then you put on powder to ensure the make-up is on. then you start with eyes shadows (ur colour pic) then mascara and eyshadow and ta ta ta
the LIPS
lips play a big part in make-up
they can exentuate a plain make-up stlyle. for example if you dont wanna overdoo eyes you can put ur full on lips (by that i mean a real bright colour) and then u have filled in the missing ingredience... or if uve gone tooo heavy on the eyes only aply a big of gloss on and the natural lip colour. xxx
i hope i have helped you

Get some foundation that matches your skin tone (This is the main base of make up). This can be mouse, liquid or powder. I find mouse is best (from avon). This is applied with a soft make-up sponge and rubbed in a circular motion evenly around your face. It's good here to get a powder foundation/shimmer to add to yuor cheeks, chin and nose.

Now get some eye liner and apply under your bottome eye lid (you can do the top too but i dont bother)

Mascara may be a bit extreme if you havent worn makeup before so i would leave it for a bit until you get used to these.

Anyway, next get some eyeshadow (a pale brown/cream colour - or whatever matches your clothes) and put on your eyelid with the applicator brush.

Now a bit of lippy or lip gloss would finish it off nice

Remember, as it is your first time keep to pale natural coulors for a more natural look - rather than big blues or greens. And the same with lippy, a nice tint of pint or light brown would be nice.

Good luck - I find avon have great lasting products

My advice... is to play and experiment. I grew up without a mom, so I too had to learn on my own.

Tip #1
Buy some chic magazines that have tips on how to apply the new craze in makeup trends. I don't know the names, but if you go to the bookstore or grocery store, just flip through them to discover which ones offer this.

Many times they feature the "colors" of the season and the how-to's for application. They even list the brands etc.

Tip #2
Save some money and then go buy make-up at Wal-mart! They have decent brands at great prices. Request make-up for your birthday and/or Christmas.

Brands I buy: Covergirl, Maybeline, Revlon and even Mary Kate and Asley. I know you're laughing at the latter! But one day when I was comparing lipgloss prices -- I ran into the Mary-Kate/Ashley products and I saw they had some nice stuff -- AND really cheap, at least compared to Revlon etc. So I bought the lipgloss and freakin LOVE IT! And b/c of that, I decided to by a couple of other things. But don't just buy one brand. Buy brandX for eyeshadow, brandx for eyeliner, etc. Play around, it's more fun that way... it's also a great way for you to familiarize yourself with the different brands.

Tip #3
Go to makeup counter at the malls.

Visit Clinique one week, Estee Lauder another, and so on. Have them show you how to apply make-up. This service is FREE (at most counters) But it's their way to make a sale while they're demonstrating the make-up. So after the session, just say you need some time to think about it. Or if you feel bad, buy the CHEAPEST ITEM... which is normally lipliner.
FYI: Clinique has a softer, cleaner look while Estee Lauder is more posh.

Tip #4
Get with your "prissy" girlfriends and have them share their make-up secrets. (the word prissy is meant all in fun:)

Hope this helps!

You should have pretty good skin at your age, so you dont need to over do it. Try the QVC website, they do a range called Bare Escentuals, really light based mineral products that look natural on your skin and doesnt look like make up at all. You can order and have 30 days to try them out in your own home and send back if you dont like. I suggest buying a medium colour pot of their foundation and they do some eyeshadows too. I wouldnt bother with lipstick, but thats cos I hate it!

Always remeber the key to good make-up application is working on a good base to begin with. If your skin is in tip top condition it will show in your make-up, so always follow a good skin care routine, ensuring your skin is moisturised before beginning. As well as this try to leave it at least 20 mins or more before you apply make-up on top of moisturises skin to allow the moisturiser to be well absorbed.

STEPS TO APPLY MAKE-UP:
1. Apply a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation. Dot it on over any blemishes or under-eye circles and blend with your fingertips or a makeup sponge. If the concealer tends to crack apply eye cream or base before hand.
2. Choose foundation that matches your skin tone exactly. Apply it in dots over the central part of your face, then blend it out with a makeup sponge or your fingertips until it covers your entire face, making sure you belnd it ievenly at jaw line, nose area, hair line and around eyebrows (make-up tends to cake in these areas).
3. Use a loose or pressed powder to keep foundation and concealer on longer (this is a personal preference) I don't use it because I like my skin looking dewy and fresh.
4. Do your eyebrows next. Use powdered eyebrow shadow on brows instead of pencil, which can often look unnatural. Apply it with a hard, slanted brush (again this is a personal preference) I just comp mine with a clear mascara because I dont want to look too made up. But always remember neatly groomed eyebrows will open the entire eye and frame them perfectly!!!!!
5. Choose three colors of eye shadow: light, medium and dark. Use the dark only to line your upper eyelid, in a fairly thin line along the upper lashes. Use the medium shade for the crease and the lightest shade for the area under the eyebrow. Again I would only reccommend this if you were going out, I tend to use just on shadow and blend it over my lid to create a sofy smokey look, thats not to harsh.
6. Apply eyeliner and line the lower lid below the lashes. Line only the outer two-thirds of the lower lid, or all the way across if you're trying to achieve a darker look. Line all the way across the upper lid (just above the lash line and as close to the lashes as possible). If you have small eyes never line the inside of the lid as this will make them look even smaller, if you want them to appear larger line the inside lid with white eye liner.
7. Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes, in two thin coats to avoid clumpiness (again personal preference, I only apply mascar to my upper lids).
8. Apply blusher, using a sweeping motion. Smile to find the apples of your cheeks, and apply blush to the apples or below, whichever you prefer. I use a cream blusher lightly dabbed on my cheek bones, again this gives me a nice subtle glow.
9. Line your lips and choose a choose a lipstick colour that matches it (it doesnt always have to be a perfect match, but near enough) Choose colours that suit to your skin tone (you'll find out when your trying new shade, what suits you and doesnt).

I found a great site for you that show you videos on how to apply make-up and loads more:

Good Luck
