There is some very, very mouldy fruit (or at least, I think it was fruit at some point in its life) in our office kitchen. There is no way I'm touching it with bare hands, how best do I fabricate a device from everyday office supplies in order to remove the offending hairy lumps?

Dahorndog - that's another element of the problem, I'm severely allergic to penicillin.

Annie - yes, we have cleaners; but no, they do not clean. They just eat our chocolate and don't empty our bins.

Find out who your Health and Safety officer is and tell her that it's an H & S risk. She will then have to arrange for the ex-fruit to be removed and you will be the good guy.

Put a plastic bag over your hands inside out pick up the offending items and the turn inside out and throw in a bin a million miles away. It is the same thing dog owners do with the poo .
If no plastic bag what about empting a paper carton pack this will be like a paper bag same thing as plastic.Tape the bottom of the paper carton bag first so it does not become soggy or wet and disintergrate a Blue Peter job by the sounds of it.

Get someone else to do it. Or put plastic wallets on your hands and use a ruler to scrape it into the bin.

if you do not have gloves then take some paper towels or foil, saran wrap and pick it up and put it a plastic bag and tie it up tight and throw away. or you can take the plastic bag from the garbage can and use that as a glove..

Just get a napkin/paper towel from the restroom, grab the fruit and throw it away.

your going to have to pick it up sometime, and it's not going to hurt you to do it, remember what pennicillin is made out of ? MOLD
just use a lot of paper towels if your afraid of touching it, or an old newspaper would work too.

the best way is to get someone else to remove it, that always works for me.
