You can't. You have already changed you T&Cs because you are workign your notice.

You can ask, but the chance is nil if the company has got any idea what they are doing.

They can easily say that since your resignation they have reviewed operations and decided to elliminate the post.

You're in one of those situations that can wind you up. However, you had already handed in your notice, so you already decided that was the best thing to do without any severance. So just move on. Its like seeing your dream kitchen at half price the week after you bought it, you were happy to buy it last week, why mess youself up by worrying.

Sorry, just bad timing. My mate has just resigned and his job will not be filled due to cut backs, he lost £30K

You have got no chance. I worked with someone who did this, 2 days later redundancy annoucements were made and she could have applied for a good voluntary package, but missed out. I suggest you start kicking yourself!

Why? You have handed in a notice to leave, so I doubt you would even be entitled to any kind of severance :/
