India is one of the most expensive country as far as petrol and diesel prices are concerned. Then why do the Petro companies advertise? Fuel is an essential commodity. No one fuels a car by watching the advertisement but they only see the Fuel-indicator. If the indicator shows decline, you rush to nearest fuel ststion. Further there are some schemes like "use of xyz card and get some points which will give some reward. To make these cards, it costs, to keep the records- it costs in terms of material, man- power, to impliment the schemes- it again costs, to promote some scheme it also costs in terms of stationary, advertisement, logistics, storage etc. Fuel is such a commodity that the stock is limited in the nature. Hence it is good to conserve it. Advertisement will encourages people to use it more. It is seen that Govt. has made Adds as "Conserve the fuel, every drop is important". This advertisement also costs and finally it hikes the fuel price. Consumer is victim. Who can stop it?

This is a valid issue, which can be taken to the Supreme Court as PIL(public interest litigation). But then again the problem of legal expenses and time taken for the judgement has to be considered here. Its the only alternative we have though here.

Expressing this issue in newspapers or internet wont solve the problem. Only the judiciary authority has to give an order in this regard, as far as in a country like India is concerned.

Yeah its really an important matter and do you think its happening only here.

In all the buisness the companies give and to adjust that expense they rise the price of ther product.

So everywhere the consumers are affected.

To save the consumers from these pblms Laws have to be made strict and it should be changed in favour of Consumer.

It's about making money not preventing price hiking up.
