No it's not. It's the "new fascism" for the 21st century.

What the PC police haven't come to grips with yet, is that freedom doesn't guarantee you the right not to be offended.

Absolutely not!!! Political correctness was invented as a means of controlling people's minds. They seem to think that if they can put enough pressure on people by controlling what they are able to say, then you can eventually control what they're thinking. ??Did it work under the Soviet System or under the Nazi system?.No. It doesn't work against anyone under the capitalist system either, but the people using this form of repression know that!. As long as they don't control enough people instilling a feeling of helplessness in them, leading to them adopting an attitude of indifference, then they know that they can get away with pretty much anything they want. And they will most likely continue to do so!
So what next I wonder???????

No because if the aim is not to help educate them but to steer them then the answer is no. If non-political correctness can educate people to have smart decisions then use profanity. Yes I know that "smart decision" can be argued as to whom and how it is arrived at.

Controlling people in any way is not democratic, unless the majority agree.
There is no democracy in this world.
The world is run by people who love to control others without their consent. Mind control is prevalent, so there is no true voting.
Political correctness is just another way of hiding the truth.

There are no thought police yet - PC may influence how people behave, but we can still think what we choose! Political correctness is SUPPOSED to to represent the majority view and so it is SUPPOSEDLY democratic

Language is a powerful thing and it is abused across the spectrum.

I hate how political correctness is used to stamp down anyone with a different opinion. I hate how stupid terms are used that really don't mean anything.

Read George Orwell's "1984" and you will be scared.

Political correctness was not set up to control how we think, it was supposed to prevent unintentional offensive remarks. Then some corrupt journalists and editors used it to raise heckles and make a story. Then some politicians used it to manipulate and jade public opinion.

It is not democratic, or ethical, to control peoples thoughts by any method.

Controlling how a person think by whatever method is wrong and certainly undemocratic. The freedom of thought includes the right to think things that are not necessarily the norm in society. How else can you have creativity?

History is littered with people who liked to think they could set and control the agenda, but they usually haven't lasted long.

There is absolutely NO WAY that anyone can control the way people think.

Even if freedom of speech is curtailed, there would be underground organisations where it would be encouraged.

That's how revolutions begin!

Afraid it is - Democracy works by persuasion if you can persuade enough people that being politically correct is right and then they elect rulers that enshrine it in law then its democratic.

In the same way you can elect a Nazi party to be the next government.

We haven't done that yet instead we have elected people who believe in political correctness and have Nazism of the mind
