It is not normal to have a period and be pregnant! I think you should see a gynecologist to make sure that everything is fine.

having your period during pregnancy is not very common but usually only lasts during the first trimester (12 weeks or 3 months)... to determine your stage during a potential pregnancy doctors will go according to the FIRST DAY of your LAST PERIOD you'll have the greatest chance at getting pregnant around 14 days from that date. Normally you'll notice your missed period around 5 weeks of pregnancy. Since you did take an at home Pregnancy test I'd say it's safer to assume that you're not pregnant especially if you're not on birth control. All Pregnancy tests look for the hormone HCG Qualitative in either your blood or urine if you're pregnant this hormone will be elevated. that's why the cheep tests are just as efficient as the expensive ones the only difference is how sensitive the test is but if you are pregnant greater than 5 weeks for sure it will show up.

and just a heads up for later they now sell the morning after pill or plan b over the counter at some drug stores; be careful when you take it cause you won't feel too great for at least a day or two

it is not un heard of to have a period during the first 3 to 4 months of your pregnany. don't know where you people are locked up at but it is possible. my best friends mom had her period the entire nine months of her pregnancy. do not worry just get a home pregnancy test and take it first thing in the morning when you first get up and have to go, it is better that way. if it comes out positive then make an appointment with your ob/gyn and see what is going on. before you go in make sure you discuss the situation with them. hope this helps, holly

No period while pregnant is the norm but there are cases when a woman will have periods for a couple of months or more. But there is usually an underlying cause so if you think you might be pregnant it is best to see your doctor.

Hello...contrary to what other people might say, you can in fact have your monthlies when you are pregnant although very uncommon. I know this because I did with my first pregnancy! My periods only stopped when I was in my 16th week (4 months) pregnant. Either way hun, i think you need to go to a doctor and let him/her check you out if you are really concerned.

Probable, NO! Possible, YES! My grandmother was 5 months pregnant before she knew it, same scenario. Best if you consult a physician for you and the child, then, Ignorant, NO! Intelligent, YES! By the way, she delivered and healthy baby boy, MY DAD!
