Turtle. Southeastern sliders have a red stripe on their neck and cheek.

a slider is a turtle. they must be a least 4 inches in diameter to be sold in the US. they can grow up to twelve inches. I do not have one but my friends son has one.

I believe it is a certain type of snake. Maybe the ones that live in the desert, like in Arabia or something. I am just guessing. Seems like I have heard that name associated with snakes though.
