Well, ideally no country should have such weapons of mass destruction. I know that this is utopic and will never happen.
And ok, we should demonstrate and express our anger for this nuclear test and maybe put some sanctions on them... that would be fine, yes!
But WHY, oh WHY, shouldn't the other countries that have nuclear weapons have the same sanctions as well? Why? And especially I am talking about USA which is crusading against the rest of the world, trying to promote a "wonderful" civilization with guns, bombs and heck why not A-bombs? But of course they wouldn't be superpower then, would they?

I wouldn't panic just yet. Repressive governments have had nuclear weapons for some time now (Pakistan comes out as a clear example - a military regime that overthrew a democratic one). Kim Jong-Il isn't half as crazy as he looks. He threw missiles at the sea of Japan not too long ago. The press called him crazy. No. If he had been crazy, he would have thrown them at Japan.
Now he has nuclear weapons. I don't think he's a very nice or moral man, to be sure, but he understands self-interest. It is clear that Kim Jong-Il has meant all along to use armament as a negotiating tool.
We survived the Cold War with the USSR. I don't think this is any different. Is it worrisome that so many people have so many horrific weapons and that they could use them at any time? Certainly. Can we be assured they will never be used? No. Is that any reason to give up on dialog? If anything, it's the best reason to believe dialog is the key.

North Korea has as much right as any other country to develop nuclear technology (also Iran)
Why should the USA, UK, France China, Russia, Israel, Pakistan, India etc have it and the USA be the arbiter.
Do not believe sophisticated but shallow US propaganda.
Remember it is only the USA that ever used the A bomb, and they did so after the Japanese had surrendered. They did it as an example to Russia of US power (read the historical record now released)
It seems the centre of evil is in fact the US Pentagon in the hands of Rumsfeld. (appointed by Bush)
The USA people are OK but naively patriotic and believe their own propaganda. (Vietnam, Somalia, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, where next? Korea, Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, Europe ?)

The US government (or any other government in poccession of their own nuclear arms) has no right to condem them as that would be hypocritical. I feel its more the responsibility of a neutral party like the UN to gather countries together to communicate on this issue and make a pact to disarm. But that is in an ideal world. It is a scary business, I really hope nothing big kicks off over this.

Technically , a state of WAR has existed between the UN and N. Korea since the 1950's .
They have violated the terms of the "CEASE FIRE " repeatedly over the years . Including this test .
I think we are about to see a lot of international sanctions dropped on them , Possibly a blockade of their ports .
Much will hinge on China , if they close their border N. Korea will be in a bad way in weeks , as they are unable to feed themselves and have no fuel resources To get them thru winter .
Let things start getting real tight and the little NUT will want to go to WAR with S.Korea , which would be suicide , and his own people will remove him , 2 bullets in the back of his head .

America has a few hundred nuclear weapons,
America is the only country to have used an atomic bomb and destroyed two whole cities, Civilians, men, women, and little children,
How should the world react?

Cut off all the food aid for the famine they are "not suffering from". Then they will realise they cannot eat plutonium. Any aggresive moves to South Korea should be answered with force in kind. And while we are on the subject - F*ck the Great Leader and the Dear Leader!!!

You said; "Of course i condemn any country who has done it or is about to do it."
So do you Condemn the United States? We dropped 2 Nuclear bombs on Japan. Which both where even more powerful than the ones N.K. has. So if you say "No, i don't condemn the U.S.", then your a hypocrite, but if you say, "Yes, I do Condemn the U.S." You would be denouncing your own country.
But to answer your question; I think we should just say, "Who gives a ****, let them blow them selves up. They don't have the technically to fire their missiles far enough to reach the U.S." but that's just my opinion.

We should congradulate them and then act like it's nothing .

And we should watch everything they do after that but to react is just the wrong thing to do - ignore it or at least appear to .

If they have a Navy - thats a problem because they could float a missle close enough to you to launch it -

How did the world react when WE were testing atomic bombs? Come to think of it, how did the world react when we became the ONLY country to actually USE atomic weapons on another country?

Oh wait, I forgot, we're the good guys. We don't count. Nevermind.
