i worked in a call centre for the largest bookmakers in europe and i can only speak for them, but the training was extensive and thorough but you cant anticipate every customers needs, just do your best to help..call centres have a high turnover of staff, so therefore a high rate of inexperienced workers..this is because it can be very stressful and the hard part is not to take it personal if someone has a rant at you....i loved it , people behave in a way that they never would if they were face to face and think its ok

HEY DUDE
I have worked in a call centre now for 3years and dont consider myself a complete loser. By the sound of your question you have some negative feeling towards call centres is this because you have recently failed a interview on the grounds of being too big a loser to be considered or have just been sacked for being rubbish. If its none of the above it is a good job you feel the way you do because you wouldn't last a month!

Ahhhh thats better stressful day at the office.

No, some are not good, some are good.

They work with the tools they are given. If you have to be on a call for less that 1 minute in order to keep your bonus what can we expect ?

I admit I do get annoyed with them, but often apologise because its not thier fault. They didn't program the annoying 10 minutes of menu options before you get to them. I try to direct my anger at the right peron. Ask to speak to the call centre telecoms manger or something.

Sometimes, call centre staff really suprise you with how they help. Perhaps you are going in with such a negative attitude that they spot it. It would just be natural not to help you, afterall you've already made your mind up.

Nobody that has a job & takes responsibiltiy for their own lives & income is a loser. There is always a way forward. In a call centre you get lots of experience of dealing with people in a skillful & often demanding manner. Surely a good training ground for something better or different if you are not satisfied.

Nerdy stole what i replace into going to declare, "Soy un Perdedor." Darn her AND that loser Beck! tell her that birds of a feather flock mutually! And which you would be striking out with that celeb rock guy Beck now, considering that ya'll are the two losers!

It could be a good first job to hone your customer service skills, but you're right, it's not the best job around. I think the person's attitude towards working there would determine whether he's a loser or not.

Yes! With very few exceptions they have neither the brain power or the initiative to deal with anything other than very basic calls - anything beyond the ordinary goes completely over their heads. I always write to companies now, rather than ring, because of the complete morons I've had to deal with in the past at the other end of the phone line.

I believe it's what people do when they've failed the McD's intelligence test.

I'm from Los Angeles, what is a call center,
is it a Telephone Operator?

I do think a job is a job.

It can be a good stepping stone and really helps boost customer relation skills. I would agree its better to be doing that than scrounging off us taxpayers.

seems that way, but it is a job and it brings in the money, and its a nice awrm environment. So maybe not such losers.
