Yes. This is one way to prop them up but more important is to provide them good education thereby giving everybody a level playing field & then see the results. If India has to become a developed & prosperous nation, it has to work hard to shed off its age old caste divisions & evolve into a hormoneous society. Bringing all sections of society especially those who have been opressed since ages, to an equal level, is an onerous task & reservations combined with educational and economical stretegies can help acheive this goal. For the time being resevations....yes....but not for ever.

FIRST ,
CONGRATULATIONS TO SAJI A.
AND ALL THE BEST........................

it's totally wrong to keep seats reserve for SC & ST

before situation was bad so,
it's necessary to push up them,
but now they are enough strong and
literate, it's perfect time , they should
tell we don't want reservation seats for us
we will prove ourselves.

and if 80% holder students cannot get
admission in medical ,
there 50/60% holder students get admission and
God knows, what will they do?
they can have only Govt. jobs which will be reserved for them.
so they are simply spoiling those people ,
who are really intelligent but due to tough
competition cannot get admission and
they have to change their field.

so all SC - ST people arise
and prove urself & dignify ur community.
u need not anybody's help.
See, saji's tempo and
prove urself.

NO. All types of reservation should be abolished. In 56 years time the SC/ST have not come up in their life. So, they do not deserve this reservation. This incentive prevents them from coming up in their life. They are not willing to come up since there is reservation for them.
