stitches. You are supposed to wait 6 weeks before you have sex. We waited until we couldn't stand it any longer. It was 3 days shy of the 6 weeks. Well, tonight I was bleeding pretty bad. Is this normal or should I go see my doctor?

The main question is has the bleeding stopped? Although six weeks is the time Dr. tells you, three days is actually very insignificent. If you bled last night, you would bleed 3 days later.
If the bleeding has stopped, you might want to call the nurse at your Dr. office and ask if the bleeding is normal after the first sexual encounter just for reassurance.
If the bleeding hasn't stopped, you need to call your Dr. and let him check you.
Either way, I would wait another week or so before having sex again, and if it causes bleeding again I would call the Dr.
Either way, don't fret the 3 days. That in itself is really no big deal.

Go see your doctor maybe in your case you should have waited 7+ weeks to have sex. not everyone heals in the same way. some slower than other some faster.
Everyone's different in regards to surgery

go and see you doctor you may have ruptured some of your stitches also the inportance also should be if you had a full or partial hemorraging after a full hysterectomy could kill you
