Hi guys, okay so it's not the most exciting question but I really need some help. I dropped a vase in my sink and it has made a long hairline crack in it and now it leaks. I have looked all over for a sealant that will be tidy and not too noticeable but one just doesn't seem to exist. Does anyone know if such a thing is available and where I can get it from??

I suspect you will have to get a new sink. Unless you're willing to put up with the leak forever.

The best answer is to replace the sink because the crack can eventually spread and dirt can accumulate if it's big enough and leaking water can lead to mold growth.

But as a stop-gap you can either:

Get an attractive bucket to catch the dripping and water the plants when it getts full, or

You can try putting aquarium sealant or clear silicone based tub sealant on the underside of the crack. Before you apply sealant (or duct tape) on the underside clean the surface well and apply rubbing alcohol to remove any oils or cleaner to give you a clean & dry surface so the stuff will stick. Check the directions - you will need to allow caulk or sealant to "cure" - do not use sink while curing.

The only thing you can TRY that I can think of is to allow the sink to dry completely and apply a coat of silicon sealent to the underside of the sink along the crack. This will sometimes seal the leak of the crack.
The best thing to do is to get a new sink and install it in place of the broken one.

@ most home improvement stores you can find crack repair for sinks. Most definately at a plumbing store. I have worked in places that sell it. It may also be called ceramic filler.
Or try using a silicone sealant used to repair aquariums for a temp fix.

In the plumbing fixture section of home improvement store ask for procelain repair paint. It comes in a small bottle similar to finger nail polish. Apply per instructions.
