Because in the first one it was Jason's mother who was the killer?

No, he actually is not the KILLER in the first movie. This is the classic movie trivia trick question that EVERYONE loves to spring on people. Jason's MOTHER was actually the killer in the first Friday the 13th.
However, he does actually 'appear' in the first movie, only in a dream. At the end of the movie, he is seen coming out of the water and grabbing the main character. Of course, as all horror genres go, she just ends up being the first one killed in the second movie, anyway.

First off "Scream", next because it was a trick question, he said that the actual killer was Jasons mum and if Jason was in it he wasn't the killer
